Reflexions on Cancer Season
Cancer season opens at the solstice into a loaded sky. Jupiter closes the lineage chapter, Mercury turns back to rewrite it, and Uranus in Gemini will make sure you stop betraying your voice. Eclipse season opens in August. This is your last chance at growing your roots before the ground shakes.
What if the tribe you were born into is not the one you are meant to belong to?
Cancer makes you want to belong. To have roots, a land, a home to take care of. But what if you don’t? Or what if the home you are tending is not the one your soul came here for?
Everyone calls Cancer nurturing. I keep returning to belonging. Because belonging is rarely innocent. Most of us learned it long before we could question it. At the family table. In the mother’s silence. In which emotions were allowed. In the roles we played to stay loved, or to survive.
The sky this season
You had a whole year with Jupiter in Cancer to heal and expand your home and lineage story. That chapter is closing now. Jupiter sings his last chorus in Cancer before his ingress into Leo.
The Sun enters Cancer at the solstice in a beautiful sextile to Chiron and a trine to the North Node. Then it squares Neptune, and Saturn, while Mars moves onto Uranus. You will be asked to individuate. To own your own voice and story.
Mercury stays two months in Cancer this year, because he stations retrograde here. He will ask you to revisit and rewrite. To use your words to speak where you come from and where you belong, what you are here to heal and to care for. This is the feminine and the ancestral story, pulled back for revision.
And eclipse season is coming. Before it opens in August, Jupiter enters Leo, opposing Pluto and squaring Chiron.
This is not a gentle season. The ground is going to move. Which is exactly why finding your anchor will matter so much this summer.
Worth, and the wrong tribe
Here is the thread I cannot stop pulling. Healing your worth is so tied to knowing where you belong. Because many of us will never be able to see our worth trying to fit in where we were born.
The North Node trine says it plainly. Your worth was never meant to be found by fitting in where you started. It is found in the direction your soul is growing.
Chiron just entered Taurus, reopening the wound of worth and safety underneath all of this. Am I enough. Am I allowed to take up space. That is the floor beneath the question of belonging.
Belonging has nothing to do with blood
Cancer at its worst is conservative. All about the bloodline, and the nationalism of the land. Don’t believe the lie. Belonging has nothing to do with blood and DNA.
Bloodline doesn’t always equal belonging. Sometimes the family you were born into gave you roots, wounds, values, and lessons, but not the place where your soul feels recognized. Sometimes it was only part of the soul’s training.
It takes time, strength, courage. I know. It feels lonely, scary, vulnerable. But there is no way to grow the tree of your soul’s purpose if you don’t find where, and with whom, you can grow the roots of your belonging.
Jupiter in Leo will ask you to be seen. But you can only be seen by the right people for you. How many of us have absolutely not been seen for our gifts where we were born, only seen through projections.
My own chart
I write this as someone with a Cancer Sun in the 11th square Pluto in Libra in the 3rd. Belonging and identity have always been the great themes of my life. Belonging to the tribe or not. Leaving tribes, (Uranus on the IC). Finding my voice. Breaking taboos. Losing belonging in order to stay loyal to myself. And learning that if I had to lose it it was never meant to be mine anyway.
The Sun crosses my own Cancer Sun, and the Capricorn Full Moon on June 29 falls facing my natal Sun. I am living the rewrite as I write it to you.
What this season asks
Rewrite belonging consciously now, or the eclipses may rewrite it for you. Not according to your mother. Not according to your lineage. But according to your soul.
Where do you feel free to be who you are, your most individuated self ? This is also the story of the North node moving to Aquarius, so much freedom coming to our way. Freedom to be our own genius breaking free from the need to be liked and validated (South Node in Leo).
Cancer asks where you came from, and who are you here to build home and healing with.
Sometimes those two answers are not the same.
Uranus in Gemini will make sure whatever you answer is, that you will finally own your voice.
